DevZero, a year-old Seattle software development startup led by former Uber engineers, announced $26 million in funding and general availability of its platform that aims to make it easier for developers to write code in the cloud.

Okta, Carta, Coinbase, and others are using DevZero’s software, which gives developers building with Kubernetes or serverless architectures a production-like environment on their local devices.

DevZero is among a group of “DevOps” startups selling tools to improve developer efficiency as more companies shift to cloud-based services.

Debo Ray, CEO and co-founder, spent nearly six years at Uber, working in infrastructure and product security. Co-founder and COO Rob Fletcher also worked at Uber, and most recently was a security engineering manager at Meta.

Investors include Anthos Capital, which led the Series A round, and Foundation Capital, which led the company’s seed round. Other backers include Fika Ventures, Foundation Capital, and Madrona Venture Group.
